So What’s Special About Peeps’ Battery Backup?

We label our battery backups with the following:

  • NO PRINTERS, VACUUMS, LAMPS OR FANS!!!
  • BATTERY BACKUP
  • COMPUTER, MONITOR, USB HUB
  • NO EXTENSIONS!!!

We also setup proactive email notifications, so we can detect subtle electrical issues before they turn into issues!

Have you ever ran ConsignPro and experienced a database crash because a workstation shutdown when it tried to print a report and caused a power surge?

Have you ever damaged Windows beyond repair, from multiple, back-to-back power flickers, taking your system down for a day?

Have you ever lost an entire system from a single power surge?

Computers, software, and databases not only benefit from being protected from power interruptions with a battery backup, but a managed battery backup — i.e. one that emails when power events happen — is instrumental in identifying underlying electrical issues before bigger problems happen.

More importantly, not every battery backup system is the same.  We’ve seen plenty of techs and software vendors simply “put in a battery backup.”  Then, Computer Peeps get the call from the store when they experience *weird* issues — e.g. their consignment software crashes when printing, but only on one computer.  Or, only the computers in one portion of the store experience issues.  This is why both A) proactively labeling the battery backup to prevent issues is something only those with experience learn and B) implementing a battery backup that will email you, not so much when power goes out, but when other power events take place.

This battery backup, is one of the core reasons Computer Peeps are different than a “normal computer tech” and why we stand apart from every-day-techs.
