Release Notes for Peeps v2.12
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add DB Version to Settings Tab
The database version (patched/updated with each program update) can be seen on the Settings tab, by clicking the App Version.
This is more-so for support/administration purposes.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Pop-up to Confirm Account You're About to Add Inventory To
There's a new 'Account Prompt' option, that pops-up to let you know which account you're about to start adding inventory for.
I've heard stores say they wish they had a notice to let them know which account they're about to start adding inventory for, as a reminder of which account they're working. Sure, inventory can be moved to another account after the fact, but I've had numerous stores over the years say they wish their software would notify them (i.e. their employees) of which account they're currently working.
This option is off by default, but you can enable this under Settings > Store > Preferences.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Peeps now has a built-in timeclock system!!! Peeps is the ONLY consignment and resale software with a complete punch system, allowing employees to punch-in/punch-out.
On the 'Home' tab, you'll see two new buttons -- an 'In' button with a big, green dot on it, and an 'Out' button, with a big red dot on it. :)
Peeps automatically tracks whether or not an employee is currently punched in or not. You can also view punches, as well as adjust punches.
You'll receive an email each time an employee punches-in/-out (optional).
You can also completely disable the Punch system under Settings > Store > More. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
The new 'Pricing Suggestions' system is here! Peeps' is proud to be the first and STILL the only consignment & resale software that automatically shows you your High/Avg./Low prices while pricing inventory. Automatic makes things so much easier vs. manually-creating suggestions.
Nonetheless, being able to manually create a list of suggested prices to help pricers better-price inventory, is something we know stores can use.
When on the Add Inventory screen, you can click the 'Price' itself (or press the F12 key on your keyboard), to see and select Pricing Suggestions.
To create Pricing Suggestions for a Category, head to Settings > Inventory and right-click on the Category you'd like to build Pricing Suggestions for.
Now, with both an automatic pricing system + a pre-defined pricing system, Peeps' provides the most comprehensive pricing system available on the market!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Per-Account Override Category Split
There's a new 'Hold Split' feature you can set on accounts! Since Peeps is the only consignment software that lets you assign Splits on a per-Category basis, when entering inventory, changing the Category can change the currently-selected Split to the one specified at the Category level.
For some accounts though -- e.g. employees, the Store account, etc. -- we've had stores ask for a way to make it so even if a Category Split is assigned, to ignore it and *always* use the account's Split.
The new 'Hold Split' option does just this. :) This is off/not-checked on an account by default, thus, items will use the Category Split, if defined. To make it so an account's Split won't change to the Category's split, head to their account and click Change Account Details. You'll see the new 'Hold Split' option -- check this box and click Save Account Details.
From then on, items added to this account no longer look for a Category Split and will *hold* at their own Split. :)
Also, if/when setting an account as the Store account, the Hold Split option will automatically be enabled (since in most, if not every instance where a Store account is in-use, they'd want the inventory to follow the store's Splits & Terms).
This was requested by Sherry @ Sadie's!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Void Sale w/ Gift Card Doesn't Replenish the Gift Card
Voiding a sale with a Gift Card (whether it be a sale where a Gift Card was used as a payment, or a Gift Card was one of the items sold), now automatically replenishes or voids, respectively, the Gift Card.
In the case where it's a payment, you'll see a new 'Adjustment' entry on the Gift Card History report. In the case where it's an item, the card will be voided/removed completely.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Print Store Address Mailing Labels
You can now print mailing/return address labels for the store! Head to Settings > Store and you'll see a print icon next to the store's address.
You'll be asked how many labels you'd like to print, as well as if you'd like to include the store's phone # on the labels too.
These are designed to work with the LBTH1 labels from Forms Plus, or 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 Inch, landscape thermal label available from a variety of sources (including Amazon).
_____________________________________________________________________________
Both Tax Names and Tax Specific Names can be re-named!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Export Emails Based On Payout Date
You can now export emails based on Payout Date! Head to Reports > More... and select 'Mailing List Export (By Payout Date)'. You'll be able to set the date From/Through.
This will export any accounts with a valid email, to a file named mailing_list_payouts_xxxx.xx.xx.csv (which Peeps takes you directly to this file as soon as the export is completed!)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Full Sheet 'Tags' for Furniture Stores, To Create 'Signs' for Items
All-new 'Item Signs' are here! This ties-in with Bug ID 1153 -- the 'Full Sheet' tags, which print on a full 8.5" x 11" piece of paper.
These are intended for furniture stores -- e.g. to put up a big sign in a plastic holder, on a dining room table, shelving unit, etc. -- but there are plenty of other situations in which the new Item Signs could be used -- e.g. for artwork, multi-quantity items you don't want to individually tag (but still display a price/info. sheet for), etc.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Auto-Percentage for Buy Outright Split
There's a new 'Auto BOR Cost' feature for Buy Outright items! If your store typically/always uses the same formula for determining the cost based on price -- e.g. cost is 30% of the price -- you can set this percentage on the Buy Outright Split.
When you type a price, the cost will automatically be set based on the percentage you've entered.
_____________________________________________________________________________
When Adding Accounts @ Buy Outright, Auto-Enable 'BOR $' Setting
There's a new 'BOR$' setting for accounts, so for stores creating accounts with a Buy Outright Split, they can choose whether new accounts will get money for items that are bought (e.g. for stores doing BOR from individuals) vs. accounts used for store-owned and should not receive money.
This option can be overridden at the account level -- the BOR$ setting that's been on the More... tab since Peeps initial release. :)
This option makes it so stores who are BOR vs. stores who do *some* BOR for the store only, can set their desired preference accordingly. This option is *on* by default and can be disabled under Settings > Store > Policies.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add a Flag/Indicator for Items Added @ POS via On-the-Fly
If an item was added on-the-fly @ POS, there is flag set on the item itself, so it can be distinguished vs. items entered as usual.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Break-out 'Log Files' Into Tabs/Sections for Quicker Viewing
The 'Log Files' tab now only shows the main, application log by default. There's a new drop-down to then filter by type -- Main, Email, All.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Cash Payout Warning/Block for Over $x.xx Amount
We've added a new Large Cash Payout prevention system! Stores can now prevent certain employees from doing Cash Payouts over a specific dollar amount.
First, to set the dollar amount, head to Store > Settings > Policies.
There's a new Access Level that goes along with this, named 'Large Cash Payouts'. You can set this Access Level under Settings > Users & Security.
And of course, if you have Peeps' IFTTT alerts enabled, you'll also get a notification on your Android device or iPhone. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Option To Automatically Check Boxes for New Account Email Options
The 'Enable Emails for This Consignor' and 'Send Welcome Email' check boxes when adding a new account, can be set to automatically be checked or not. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Account Groups are here! This is a new feature that lets you apply a label to an account -- e.g. Shopping Club, Red Hat Ladies, Best Bunch, etc. You can create as many Groups as you'd like and you can assign an account to as many Groups as you'd like -- i.e. an account can have more than one label/be in more than on Group.
Initially, there will be a few reports based on Accounts by Group. I'll continue to expand upon this new system after I've seen how stores aim to use these Groups and what additional features they'd like to see -- e.g. email accounts by Group, print mailing labels by Group, do discounts @ POS for Groups, etc.
_____________________________________________________________________________
You can now print full-page item signs! For furniture stores, many have asked to be able to print a full-sheet of paper as a 'tag', of sorts, so they can put a sign-up on large items -- e.g. dining tables, shelves, etc.
There are two new tag options available:
• Full Sheet
• Full Sheet (Markdown)
You can assign any printer to these new 'tags' -- e.g. a Brother printer, HP printer, etc.
These follow the same settings as tags do @ you can change your fonts, hide/mask the date, hide/show the Donate check-mark, Split ID, etc.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Alert/Notice @ POS for 'Special' Items
There's a new 'Item Alert' feature you can set on items! We've had stores ask for a way to alert employees as they scan items, to special instructions/details about an item -- e.g. "Please remove security tag!" or "This item includes a special gift box/dust bag!"
You can add/remove an Item Alert on each item and we've added as many ways possible, so you can get to this alert quickly:
• By right-clicking the item on Search Inventory and choosing 'View/Edit Item Alert'.
• By right-clicking the item during Add Inventory and choosing 'View/Edit Item Alert'.
• By viewing the item and clicking the little, yellow 'Alert' icon at the bottom-right.
Once an item has alert text on it, when it's scanned @ POS, the alert text will pop-up for the employee to see. They can also right-click the item @ POS to see the alert again.
You can also enable/disable whether or not alerts will pop-up, under Settings > Point of Sale > More.
There's also a handy little option on the Search Inventory screen, so you can toggle and see only items 'With Alerts' or not, as well as search through the results.
Suggested by Wayne @ On Second Thought. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
You can now create a '$0.00' Coupon, which when used @ POS, will automatically prompt you to enter the dollar amount on-the-fly.
This was actually included at the tail-end of v2.11, but is officially in v2.12.
_____________________________________________________________________________
You can now add a Note to a Sale! On the View Sale screen, there's a new View/Edit Note button.
Use this to make notes on (or remove notes from) a sale.
There are also two new Access Levels (Sale Notes (View) and Sale Notes (Edit)) that go along with this, so you can prevent employees from either viewing notes, or editing/updating notes.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Minimum Price for Brands/Designers
There's a new Minimum Price feature for Brands! A Louis bag shouldn't be priced the same as a Michael Kors bag, so making sure someone doesn't accidentally price a new LV bag @ $100.00, is important.
Peeps now does this for you! To set a Minimum Price for a Brand, just specify the dollar amount on the Brand itself @ Settings > Inventory > Category Details.
Once a dollar amount is specified, when you go to save the item, Peeps will check to make sure the Brand is not priced below your Minimum Price.
You can also disable this feature entirely via Settings > Store > Preferences.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Removing Account from Plan, 'Lose Points' Needs to Create a Points Deduction
When removing an account from a Frequent Shopper Plan, the option to 'Lose Points' now creates a point deduction *and* adds a note to the account, outlining which user removed the account from the plan, how many points they lost, and what the point value (in dollars) was at the time they were removed.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Keyboard Shortcut for Quicker User Logout
You can now use CTRL + L as a keyboard shortcut to quickly logout. :)
This is helpful in a store with multiple employees, so they can quickly lock their terminal when walking away.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Ability to Purge Activity Log
The Activity Log stored in the database, can now be purged.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Finishing Layaway, If Cash Over Total, Make Change
When completing a layaway with cash, Peeps now displays the Change Due if change needs to be made!
Reported by Lori @ NU2U and Sue @ 2nd Chance. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Option to Show/Hide 'Pickup By' & 'Expires On' on the Drop-off Receipt
You can now hide both the 'Pickup By' and 'Expires On' dates on the inventory Drop-off Receipt!
Head to Settings > Printers > More... and if you want to hide either/both the Pickup By and/or Expires On dates, just un-check the 'Show' check-box next to each.
This will hide the dates on the following printouts/emails:
• Drop-off Receipt (printed during the tag printing process)
• Drop-off Receipt (reprinted from within an account)
• Most-Recent Items Email
• Items Entered On Email
_____________________________________________________________________________
We now distribute/include the Code 39 barcode font w/ Peeps, as not all systems have this font installed by default.
_____________________________________________________________________________
'Selected Tag/Label' Flyover/Balloon Shows 'Selected Tab/Label' :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Assign Image/Picture To Accounts
You can now assign a picture to a consignor's account! Some stores like (or need) to keep an image on-file for a consignor/customer. You can now add/view/remove an image, by right-clicking the main account icon at the top of the Account Overview screen. There's even a little hint/Tooltip notifying of this, when you hover your cursor over the main icon. :)
Some notes:
• The image should be a .jpg
• The image is automatically copied to the server/main computer, so it's viewable from every computer running Peeps' Software on your network.
• When you add an image, Peeps will let you know if there's already an image on-file and will ask if you'd like to replace it.
• You can remove the image by right-clicking and choosing 'Delete Image' -- you'll be prompted to confirm.
• There is an Access Level for adding, viewing, and deleting images, so you can block employees from any/all of these actions.
This was requested by Elizabeth @ Mommy's Lil Rascals. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Pre-pend '0' for Single Digit Barcode IDs for Greater Compatibilty w/ Off-the-Shelf Scanners
Some barcode scanners cannot read single-digit barcode IDs, so we now preprend a 0 to single-digit barcode IDs (and trim them when scanning @ POS/Status Inventory) for greater compatibility.
_____________________________________________________________________________
With 'Net' In Query, for Accounts w/ 30,000+ Records, Items Tab Loading Is Slow
Made adjustments to the query (JOIN) which resolved this issue. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
1-Across Mini Label -- Barcode ID Stepping-on Barcode
The new 1-Across Mini Label in v2.11, was 'stepping on' the barcode itself. This was actually resolved unofficially in a follow-up 2.11 update, but is officially included in the v2.12 update.
This was reported by Pam @ Worthy Girl!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Insert Category Details on-the-fly on View Item Screen
Category Detail Values can now be inserted on the View Item screen!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Warning When Voiding A Sale That Was Paid for With Points -- Can't Deduct Points
When voiding a sale that was paid for with points, it was generating a warning and could not continue. This has been resolved.
This was reported by Traci @ Frugality.
_____________________________________________________________________________
If Prompt To Reprint Tags After Update Is On, Print Tags/Labels Print Button Disabled
This was actually fixed post-v2.11, but is officially in v2.12. This was reported by Melynda @ Hand-Picked!
_____________________________________________________________________________
POS Payment Totals Shows '0001' Year for Through When Viewing "All"
Fixed! The 'Through' date was using a variable that wasn't getting set prior to previewing. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Disable TabStop to "Item On-the-Fly" Button/Link @ POS
The keyboard 'Tab Stop' no longer tabs-to/stops on the 'Items On-the-Fly' link on the Scan/Enter items screen.
I don't like 'link labels' getting a tab stop as you hit tab throughout a form/screen and I noticed it was doing-so, so I...stopped it. :D
_____________________________________________________________________________
If Tag/Label Selection Is Blank, Don't Allow Tag/Label Preview to Open :)
The 'Preview Tag' window can no longer be opened, if no Printer Task is selected.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add 'US Cellular' to the Cell Provider List!
'US Cellular' has been added to the list of Cell Providers. This was requested by Deanna @ Molly's Loft!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Void Sale w/ Gift Card Created, Prompt to Void Gift Card As Well
When voiding a sale, if a Gift Card was created in said sale, it will now be voided as well.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Ability to Enable/Disable Emails for Consignor
There's a new 'Email' check-box on the More... tab within each account, allowing you to enable/disable emails for the account.
This makes it so their account will be included/excluded, respectively, when sending bulk emails via Peeps' Message Station, or when using the Export Emails button.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Bulk Setting to Change All Accounts' 'Enable Email' Setting
There's a new Bulk Change setting for enabling/disabling email sending for all accounts!
To enable/disable emails for all accounts, head to Settings > Store > More.
This is helpful if new accounts were added in the past, with the 'Send Emails' option un-checked, but now you'd like to be able to send bulk emails to these accounts or include them in the mailing list export.
Note: Even if an account has email sending enabled, if they do not have a valid email address on file, they still won't appear in either the Message Station, or the Mailing List Export.
_____________________________________________________________________________
User Interface for Selecting/Removing Logo (vs. Just Putting File in Directory)
You can now select/remove/replace your store's logo for sales receipts, by heading to Settings > Point of Sale. Click the 'Logo' button to select the image you'd like to use for your sales receipts.
If an image is already set as your logo, you'll be prompted if you'd like to remove/replace the existing logo.
A store logo has been able to be added to receipts, by placing 'store_logo_receipt.png' in the program's folder, but having a way to select/remove your logo within the software is nicer. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Store Account Button Remains Disabled If Clicked & No Store Account Has Been Set
The Store Account button now re-enables, if clicked and if no Store Account has yet to be set.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Prompt @ POS for 'Take Entire Amount of $x.xx As Cash'?
There's a new 'Cash Payment Prompt' option for Point of Sale, which, if enabled, will prompt and ask you to confirm when taking Cash payments that are equal to or greater than the Total Due.
This setting can be enabled/disabled under Settings > Point of Sale > More.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Hourly Sales Screen Includes Voided Sales
The Hourly Sales screen no longer shows/includes Voided sales!
This was reported by Doris @ Attic Fanatic.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Track How Many Tags Were Printed
There's a new 'Tag Mileage' feature! Peeps now shows you how many tags you've printed to-date.
This is handy for seeing how many tags you print, so you can see how many rolls you're consuming.
To view your Tag Mileage, head to Settings > Printers > More and click the little 'Tag Mileage' icon.
Note: This is only tracked going forward, so any previous tags printed will not be reflected in this total.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add Underscore before 'ARCHIVED' for CC Receipts
Archive file names now have an underscore between the Approval Code and 'archived'.
_____________________________________________________________________________
'Can Be Set Under Settings > Store' Text for Brand Required and Leave POS Tab
Added 'You can change the Brand Required setting under Settings > Store > Preferences' to the 'Brand Required' prompt when adding or updating an item.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add 'No Data' Text to Charts When No Data Is Available
Charts now show a large 'No Data To Display!' notice, if the selected chart returned no data -- e.g. if a date range is selected that has no matching data, if it's a brand new installation of Peeps and there isn't any data yet, etc.
_____________________________________________________________________________
'Open' Database Transaction Preventing Logins On Other Workstations
After an update, when the "What's New?" prompt appears, the user login transaction is still open, so if you try to log-in on another workstation, it alerts that it can't login.
I've moved this event outside of the login transaction and this issue has been resolved. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Message Station -- Thread.Sleep During Message Sending
While sending messages from the Message Station, the 'thread' takes a brief pause (sleep) between each message (i.e. 250 milliseconds).
_____________________________________________________________________________
Accounts for Emailing Includes Invalid Emails
The Message Station no longer includes accounts with invalid email addresses.
This was reported by Sherry @ Sadie's!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add 'Are You Sure?' Prompt When Attempting to Close Message Station
The Message Station now detects if you're currently in the middle of a bulk email or bulk SMS and attempt to close it.
_____________________________________________________________________________
When Sending Bulk Emails, If An Email Is Invalid/Returns Error, Continue vs. Exiting
The bulk Message Station system used to pop-up a notice and stop, if an recipient could not be emailed, thus, halting the entire message sending process.
This no longer happens and the process will continue on, but will notify at the end if there were any failed recipients.
This was reported by Sherry @ Sadie's.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add Phone # To Sales Receipt
The store's phone # has been added to the sales receipt. :) This was requested by Deanna @ Molly's Closet!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Ability To Set a 'Maximum Discount' @ POS
You can now set a Maximum Discount amount for the on-the-fly % discount @ POS.
To set the Maximum Discount amount, head to Settings > Point of Sale and click the 'Max.' button next to POS Discount.
This also ties-in with an issue caused if someone scans a barcode into the POS Discount field. Since it has a maximum possible value of 99, if a barcode was scanned (which will be a number greater than 99), the default behavior of this field is to drop back down to 99. Thus, a discount would be 99% off. Even though there's a large, green banner showing there's a discount in-play, it's still not a desirable behavior. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Preference/Setting to Open 'Add Inventory' in Full Screen/Maximized
The Add Inventory screen will now remember if it was opened 'Maximized' (i.e. full-screen) or not.
_____________________________________________________________________________
When Adding Layaway Payments, You Can Keep Adding Payments Over the Total Balance
Adding payments beyond the Balance Due is no longer possible.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Ability to Toggle 'Active' On/Off for All Tag/Labels
I've added a little 'Easter Egg' that allows you to quickly set all Tags/Labels to either Active or Inactive.
If you right-click on the Active/Inactive checkbox, you'll be prompted as to whether you'd like to do this for all Tags/Labels.
This is mainly for administration, but it provides a quick way to enable/disable all Tags/Labels.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Even if Category Detail is Blank, Allow 'Enter' To Navigate to Next Drop-down/Field
Hitting 'Enter' on the keyboard will now navigate to the next drop-down/field, even if it's blank.
Since not every Category Detail would be selected/filled, hitting Enter should allow the user to navigate to the next field without having to hit the Tab key on the keyboard.
In summary, you can just keep hitting 'Enter' vs. having to hit the 'Tab' key. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Category Detail Text Not Cleared When Adding New Category Detail On-the-Fly
When inserting a new Category Detail on-the-fly (e.g. Brand, Size, Color, Material, etc.) the insert screen always clears the text field (i.e. the form is Disposed), so there's neve a chance of a lingering Category Detail Value from a previous entry.
This was reported by Michele @ Revolution. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Reprint Receipt on Open Layaway Not Printing
The Reprint Receipt button within an existing Layaway, now prints a receipt.
This was reported by Doris @ Attic Fanatic.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Drag n Drop Images On Items Not Accepting .JPG vs. jpg
The file extension check now does .ToLower, allowing both .JPG and .jpg (or any case-variation) to be accepted.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add a CC Email Address for A Second Daily Summary Email
A second/CC email address can now be added to Peeps' Daily Email Summary! This is so stores with both an owner and a manager (or two owners), can both receive a copy of the Daily Email Summary.
This is in addition to the one sent via text message/SMS. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add Date Range Selections to Charts
Peeps' Charts now have a date range selector!
This was requested by Pam @ Worthy Girl!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Bring Out the 'Is Furniture' and 'Is Clothing' Flags for Categories
You can now flag individual Categories as 'Furniture' or 'Clothing'. Even though there's a Department > Category structure, there are times when a Department isn't named 'Furniture', or when a Category under a general Department (e.g. Women's), is or isn't clothing.
With these check-boxes, stores can now identify items in a specific Category as Furniture or Clothing, providing further grouping for reports/totals/stats. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
'Items By Category' Chart
There's a new Items by Category full-color chart! Where the Top Categories chart reflects top-selling Categories, the Items by Category chart shows the number of items added per-Category, during the specified date range.
This was requested by Pam @ Worthy Girl!
_____________________________________________________________________________
There's a new Items by Type full-color chart! The Items by Type chart shows the number of items added per-Type -- e.g. Consignment, Buy Outright & Retail -- during the specified date range.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Markdown Tag w/ Color, More Details, etc.
The 1-Across (Markdown Wide) tag now prints the Category Details! e.g. Color, Material, etc.
This was requested by Michele @ Revolution. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
New Process Name 'NETePayManager.exe' -- Detect This .exe in Peeps
With the latest versions of NETePay, the executable's name has changed. Peeps' now looks for both the previous version (DSIBluePayIP_Host) as well as the new version (NETePayManager), for our proactive detetion of the NETePay system!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Hide Totals on Home Screen
The totals on the 'Home' tab can now be hidden from employees who shouldn't be able to see these totals! There's a new Access Level @ 'Totals -> Home Tab' that if set, the logged-in employee will see 'N/A' instead of the total dollar amounts/stats.
This was requested by Michele @ Revolution!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Hide Totals/Summary on Reports Tab
The totals on the 'Reports' tab can now be hidden from employees who shouldn't be able to see these totals! There's a new Access Level @ 'Totals -> Reports Tab' that if set, the logged-in employee will see 'N/A' instead of the total dollar amounts/stats.
This ties-in with Bug ID 1444.
This was requested by Michele @ Revolution!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Hide Total on Search Sales Screen
The totals on the 'Search Sales' screen can now be hidden from employees who shouldn't be able to see this total! There's a new Access Level @ 'Totals -> Search Sales' that if set, the logged-in employee will see 'N/A' instead of the total sales dollars.
This ties-in with Bug IDs 1444 & 1445.
This was requested by Michele @ Revolution!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Access Level for 'My Stats'
There's a new Access Level for 'My Stats'. If you want to prevent employees from viewing their stats (which can show sales totals, number of sales, etc.) you can utilize this Access Level to block them.
'My Stats' is the little, blue button next to their name at the top-right of the software. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Search Items > "Show Me Items w/ Alerts"
Added a new 'With Alerts' check-box to the Search Inventory screen. This lets you quickly toggle to see + search items that have Item Alert text on them.
This ties-in with Bug ID 1172, the new Item Alerts feature. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add 'Quantity' to Pick List
The Account Picklist now includes 'Quantity'! A 'Qty.' column has been added, reflecting the total number of items still on-hand. If the Quantity is greater than 1, it will show in bold, to make it easier to spot multi-quantity items. :) There's also a 'Total Count' at the bottom of the report, that displays the grand total of the Quantity.
Lori @ NU2U requested this, as she pulls items that might have more than one (e.g. jewelry). :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Ability to Change the Check # On-the-Fly
You can now change the Check # on-the-fly on both the Pay Account and the Pay Accounts screens, respectively.
To change the Check #, click the Check # itself. :)
This is also connected to an Access Level, so you can prevent employees from changing Check #s on-the-fly.
This was most-recently requested by Pam @ Worthy Girl!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Show Next Check # on Pay Account (Individual Payout) Screen
The 'Next Check #' now displays on the individual Pay Account screen (previously, it only showed on the bulk Pay Accounts screen).
_____________________________________________________________________________
Change 'New Or Existing Consignor' to Say 'New Or Existing Account'
The 'New or Existing' pop-up now shows 'Account' vs. 'Consignor', to be more ambidextrous @ consignment vs. resale vs. retail.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Appointment Scheduler Enhancements
A few enhancements have been made to the Appointment Scheduler:
• You can delete an appointment.
• There's a new Access Level (Delete Appointments) to prevent employees from deleting appointments.
• There are two new Appointment Types -- Buy and Drop-off.
• There's an on-screen notice if there are 'No Appointments! :)'
_____________________________________________________________________________
Right-click > Search Inventory > View Sales History
When working with Lori @ NU2U, she uses the Search Inventory screen to look and see how many of an item is sold. To make this process quicker, I've added a right-click 'View Sale History' option here, so you don't have to go into the account itself. :)
I've also added some enhancements to this screen, for better at-a-glance info.:
• The Barcode ID and Description show in the title
• There's a count of Sales/Voids/Refunds
_____________________________________________________________________________
Customize the 'Consignor Contract' Title
You can now customize the 'Title' of the Consignor Contract! This is beneficial for both consignment stores, that just want to change the name to suit their stores, or for buy outright stores, where 'consignor' doesn't always apply.
To set the name/title of the Consignor Contract, head to Settings > Store > Policies and click the Contract Text button. Whatever name you enter in the 'Title' field, will become the name that appears on both the printed and the emailed contract. :)

'Deep' Search/Full Text Search on Search Inventory Screen
There's a new 'Deep Search' option on the Search Inventory screen!
To keep things short and sweet, you can now search for words in any order. :) e.g. 'white jeans' will return items with details listed as "Women's Jeans DKNY White".
This is a little check-box with a pink icon next to it, at the top-right. It is on by default, but can be switched-off.

Retail Price Prints On Second Tag, Only for 2-Across, If Only One Tag Is Printed
Fixed! :) This applies to both the 2-Across (Landscape) and 2-Across (Landscape Markdown) tags/labels.

When Selling An Item, Check To See If It's Already In A Paused Sale
When scanning (or typing) a Barcode ID @ point of sale, Peeps will check to see if the item is already in a Paused Sale and if so, will alert you and prevent the item from being added to the current sale.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add 'Reprint Receipt' Button to Search Sales for Quicker Access
There's a Reprint Receipt button directly on the Search Sales screen now! This means you can reprint a receipt, without having to A) view the sale, then B) click Reprint.
So in two clicks -- Search Sales > Reprint Receipt -- you can get a reprint out. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
When Updating An Existing Account, First/Last & Address Aren't 'Proper Case'
When creating new accounts, Peeps always does 'Proper Case' for their name and address -- i.e. even if you type 'jane smith', we'll make it 'Jane Smith'. However, if you went and edited the account *after* it was created, I wasn't doing Proper Case on the update!
This was reported by Traci @ Frugality!

Prompt If Email Settings Aren't Set, When Adding Employee Alerts
Fixed! Sue @ 2nd Chance reported an issue when opening Peeps' Software. It was from a new Employee Alert that had been added, but Email Settings hadn't been configured.
Peeps' Software now A) notifies you if Email Settings haven't been configured when adding a new Employee Alert and B) won't attempt to send the email notification unless Email settings have been configured. :)

Print Drop n Go to Receipt Printer
The Drop n Go receipt can now be printed to your receipt printer, instead of your full-sheet printer!
If you'd rather print the receipt to your receipt printer, you can enable this under Settings > Printers > More.
The reasons a store would want to do this:
• Receipts on the receipt printer print faster.
• Receipt printers don't use ink, so it saves on ink/toner.
• It's much less paper, so it's *greener*. :)
This was requested by Sue @ 2nd Chance!

Consignor Agreement Signature Capture for X-Charge Users
The Consignor Agreement can now be signed on your Ingenico iSC250 PIN Pad, for X-Charge users!
We've had this for BluePay users and I've now added this for X-Charge!
Also, if you change the name of your Consignor Contract (Settings > Store > Contract Text), that name also displays on the PIN Pad, so your consignor sees consistent wording across your printouts and devices. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
X-Charge CC Processing Changes/Updates
I've made a TON of enhancements/updates to the integrated X-Charge credit card processing system.
_____________________________________________________________________________
X-Charge Signature Capture Image for Consignor Agreement Overlaps Signature Line
The signature that was captured via X-Charge, for the Consignor Contract, overlapped the signature line a bit. It's been nudged-up a hair, so it no longer overlaps.
_____________________________________________________________________________
There's now an X-Charge receipt copies setting! You can control how many copies of the credit card receipt will print via Settings > Point of Sale.
_____________________________________________________________________________
BluePay/DataCap Signature Capture Issue w/ Swiped Debit Cards
Fixed an issue that was happening to BluePay users, with signature capture in place. For swiped debit, there is no 'signed' response that comes back from DataCap, so Peeps was checking for a 'nothing' and this would trigger a warning when trying to complete the sale.
Peeps now only checks for the 'signed' response IF it's 'not nothing', which has resolved this issue.
Basically, BluePay users will have a smoother experience now, with signature capture and swiped debit cards. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Option to *NOT* Print Merchant Copy for BluePay/DataCap, IF Signature Was Captured
I've added an option to prevent the second, 'Merchant Copy' of the receipt from printing...IF a digital signature was captured!
By default, two copies of the credit card receipt print (required by the credit card compliance rules) -- both a 'Merchant Copy' and the 'Customer Copy'. IF a digital signature is captured, the Merchant Copy can be skipped, but the Customer Copy must always be provided.
So now instead of printing three receipts -- Peeps' Receipt, Merchant Copy, Customer Copy -- you can print only Peeps' Receipt (which this too, can be turned off) and the Customer Copy.
This option is available under Settings > Point of Sale > Credit Cards, if you have BluePay selected as your CC Processor. Un-check the 'Print' option to prevent the Merchant Copy from printing.
This was requested by Lori @ NU2U and Traci @ Frugality!

If Only One Tax, Automatically Select When Adding A New Category
If a store has a single tax, when adding new Categories, this tax will automtically be selected.
This was requested by Sue @ 2nd Chance. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Access Level for X-Charge Voids
I've added a new Access Level so stores can block employees from having access to voiding Credit Card transactions.
X-Charge logs the history of any voided payments, but this prevents employees from accessing this via Peeps.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Access Level for X-Charge Returns
I've added a new Access Level so stores can block employees from having access to returning money to a Credit Card.
X-Charge logs the history of any returns, but this prevents employees from accessing this via Peeps.

Move 'No Sale' Receipt Printing Out of Reports Library
The 'No Sale' trigger, which prints to the receipt printer, has been moved out of the reports library and into the native .NET printing routine.
This means it prints MUCH faster -- essentially, instantly. Thus, the cash drawer pops-open instantly vs. waiting a few seconds. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
POS Payment Total 'Sales' Column Doesn't Include 'Other' Payments
The POS Payment Totals report now includes 'Other' Payments in the 'Sales' column!
This was reported by Sue @ 2nd Chance!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add 'Other' Payments to Drop-down List on POS Refunds
The 'Other'/custom Point of Sale payments, are now available to use when processing a Refund.
This was requested by Sue @ 2nd Chance. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Ability to 'Make Change' On Cash Layaway Payment, When Not Paying-off the Balance
When taking a Cash payment on a Layaway, you can now make change, even if they're not paying-off the Layaway!
e.g. If they only want to put down $50, but hand you a $100 bill, you can now type $100 and Peeps will automatically prompt to ask if you'd like to put the full $100 toward the Layaway, or if Change needs to be made.
_____________________________________________________________________________
X-Charge On Layaway Payments
X-Charge Credit Card processing has been tied-in to Layaway payments!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Auto-Print Receipt When Making Layaway Payments
When taking payments on Layaways, an abbreviated receipt now prints.
This receipt shows the amount tendered, amount paid, change, and balance remaining.
There's also an option to turn this off, under Settings > Point of Sale > More.

If A Single Item Is Added, Customer Added, Then Item Removed, Customer Info. Doesn't Clear
I noticed that if you added one item, then selected an account (or already had an account selected), then removed the item (leaving no items/payments @ POS), the Account ID didn't clear, thus, the next sale would show that customer as the one who shopped.
A very rare case and no one's encountered it yet, but this potential hole has been closed. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Text Log of Wish List Delete
When a Wish is deleted, a full detail of the Account ID, Wish Description, and Wish Expiration date is written to the text log.
I had a customer on another software system, accidentally delete a Wish and ask if she could get it back. You can't recover it once deleted, so we had to revert to a backup from earlier in the week, view the wish, then restore back to the current backup.
I figured having a log of this would help in that situation, even with an 'Are you sure you want to delete this Wish?' prompt. :)

Adding Tax, Then Tax Specific, Exception Raised In Certain Situations
The re-load of the drop-down, once a new Tax was added, was not refreshing the list. This has been fixed!

New Peeps Software Logo!!!
Peeps has a new logo! We love the re-design of our Peeps ghost and we've carried the same design over to our Peeps Software 'tag' logo. :)
You'll see this new logo on your Desktop icon and throughout the application.
We hope you think he's as adorable as we think he is! :D

Ability to Add/Remove Accounts To/From Frequent Shopper Plans In Bulk
You can now add accounts to or remove accounts from a Frequent Shopper Plan in bulk!
Right-click on any Plan and you can add to or remove from. You'll be prompted to confirm + see how many accounts were impacted.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Default City/State/ZIP -- One-Click 'Copy from Store Info'
I was setting-up a new store on Peeps' Software and as I was setting the Default City/State/ZIP for new accounts, I realized it would be nice to just auto-fill this from the Store address. :)
I've added a little 'Easter Egg' to do this -- double-click to auto-fill from the Store address (there's even a little hint/balloon that notifies of this feature).
_____________________________________________________________________________
1-Across Mini, Tiny, Jewelry Wide & Butterfly Barcode A Bit Too Close To the Left
When checking on a barcode scanning issue, I noticed the barcodes for these tags/labels were a *bit* too close to the left edge of the tag/label.
Thus, if the label on the roll drifted even slightly to the left, or the roll wasn't in there perfectly, a bar of the barcode could be cut-off, thus, the barcode wouldn't be able to be scanned.
I've nudged each of these in a few pixels, to make them more forgiving.

Payout Fee Comparison is 'String' not 'Decimal', Prevents Certain Fee Amounts
When paying accounts, if the Payout Fee was an amount that the first number was greater than the payout amount -- e.g. a fee of $2.00, a payout of $111.00 -- the payout couldn't continue. This was due to the variables having no datatype specified when declared, thus, they were being treated as strings. Declared these as decimals and the issue is resolved!
This was reported by Pam @ Worthy Girl!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Ability to Click 'Smart Price' to Fill Price During Item Entry
You can now *click* the Avg. price from Peeps' Smart Pricing (i.e. the automatic Hig/Avg./Low) to fill-in the Price field. :)
This was requested by Elizabeth @ Mommy's Little Rascals!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Make Brand Smart Pricing Optional
The automatic High/Avg./Low pricing (i.e. Peeps' Smart Pricing) can be disabled, if you'd like.
This is an option under Add Inventory Settings, on the Add Inventory Screen.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Opening/Closing Drawer Amounts
There's a new 'Till' feature in v2.12! You can set your Cash Till amount by clicking the Till button on the POS screen.
The Till screen tracks the last date/time it was updated and the last person that updated it.
This option is per-computer, so you can set the opening Cash Till amount on each computer, if you have more than one point of sale station.
This was requested by Suki @ Closet Revival!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Add 'Station' to Payouts Table
The 'Station Name' is now tracked when cutting Payouts! With this, we can tie any payout not only to a specific User/Employee, but also the Station at-which it was cut.
This facilitates tying Cash Payouts to a specific station, so you can balance your drawer between Starting Till, Cash Payments, and Cash Payouts. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
D.C. Not In List of States
The drop-down list of States didn't have an option for D.C. (District of Columbia)! This has been added to each of the drop-downs throughout the software. :)
This was reported by Jennifer & Kathy @ The Ottoman Society!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Export Emails Based On Item Date
You can now export emails based on Item Date! Head to Reports > More... and select 'Mailing List Export (By Item Date)'. You'll be able to set the date From/Through.
This will export any accounts with a valid email, to a file named mailing_list_items_xxxx.xx.xx.csv (which Peeps takes you directly to this file as soon as the export is completed!)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Scan Barcodes Converted from Other Consignment Software, Into Refunds in Peeps :)
Barcodes that were printed from other consignment software systems, can now be scanned-in to Peeps when doing a refund!
This was reported by Sue @ 2nd Chance! :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Ability to 'Re-Assign' Payout to 'This Station'
You can now change the name of the station/computer a Payout was cut at. This is typically for those doing Cash Payouts, specifically, if they cut the Cash Payout on one station, but realized they needed to physically take the money out of the drawer on another station.
With the Cash Till option, being able to re-assign the stations means Cash Payouts can be instantly balanced in one-click. :)
This was something that came up while working with Suki & Tiffany @ Closet Revival. :)

Handle Card Removed from PIN Pad During Signature Capture
This one has been bugging the hell out of me! :D With the Ingenico PIN Pads, if you pull the card out while the signature capture screen is up, it cancels the signature capture.
After reaching-out to DataCap (the software company that communicates with the PIN Pads) and really only hearing a suggestion to 'update' (this happens on old and new PIN Pads), I kept thinking about a way I can handle this.
Instead of doing the signature capture right after the approval, but before the payment is added to the sale, I thought, why not just move the signature capture until after all of this?
This ties in with Bug ID 1633.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Move Signature Capture Request from PIN Pad Until Later In the Chain
I've moved the signature capture request (for BluePay users), to later on in the transaction flow.
So now, the card is inserted, then when it's approved, you get the notice it's been approved and the customer is alerted they can remove their card. THEN, if a signature was requested, I prompt for the signature.
For you, this means you're able to flow through the sale/payment process without worry of if the signature was interrupted by removing the card. Basically, moving it to the end of the line, makes for a much smoother experience. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
You can now add/view/edit Notes on Payouts! Double-click the Payout and there's a new View/Edit Note button.
_____________________________________________________________________________
If a POS Misc. Item Is In the Sale, After Scanning a Barcode, the + Button Doesn't Come On
Resolved the issue where if you scanned items, THEN a POS Misc. Item, THEN additional items, the little '+' button wouldn't re-enable.
This was reported by Elizabeth @ Mommy's Lil Rascals and Lori @ NU2U!

Hide Departments With No Categories On Add Inventory Screen
Initially, I kept Departments that had no Categories visible on the Add Inventory screen, as to provide a 'guide' to the user and prompt them to let them know if a selected Department had no Category.
Since the prompt can pop-up while scrolling/down-arrowing through the list, I decided to go ahead and suppress Departments that have no Categories from showing-up at all. You're already prompted when adding the Department, that at least one Category is required, so why continue bugging you? :)

Improvements to Inactivity Timer
I've made some changes/enhancements to the function utilized to detect activity, which then triggers the inactivity timer.
This was reported by Tiffany @ Closet Revival. :)

2-Across Landscape Markdown Prints 'Errant' Date on Blank Tag When Printing Odd Amounts
When printing one (or three, five, etc.) item(s) to the 2-Across Landscape Markdown, the markdown dates no longer print on the odd/blank tag.
This was reported by Holly @ 2nd Chance Fairfield!

BluePay -- Make 'Payment Approved' Pop-up During a Sale, Optional
You can now choose whether or not you'll see a pop-up 'Success' prompt when processing CC payments!
The 'Success' prompt is on by default, but can be disabled under Settings > Point of Sale > Credit Cards.
The benefit to this is, it makes the whole 'experience' much faster, since you don't have to click 'OK' in order to complete the sale (e.g. if you get distracted, are talking to the customer, etc.)
If the payment fails, you'll still get a pop-up notice, but if it's successful, it's one less *thing* to see while trying to complete a sale. :)
_____________________________________________________________________________
You can now process Refunds to credit cards during the POS Refund process!
Up until now, CC Refunds had to be processed manually in BluePay, after completing the POS Refund.
In order to make this as flexible as possible, there are some helpful options:
• You can choose whether or not to use BluePay for Refunds at all, via Settings > Point of Sale > Credit Cards.
• If BluePay Refunds are enabled, when processing a Refund, you'll be asked if the cardholder is present, with their card in-hand. If you choose 'Yes', you'll be able to process their refund using the PIN Pad. If you choose 'No', you'll be able to process the refund as usual and you'll manually refund their card in BluePay.
