There are times when a card # might have to be manually entered on the PIN Pad -- e.g. when taking a payment over the phone, if the chip won't read, etc. For our customers utilizing the recommended Priority Payment Systems CC processing, the Datacap integration provides Manual Entry for such cases. Peeps has added this as an optional setting, which is *not* enabled by default. Peeps now has a new setting under Settings > Point of Sale > Credit Cards to show the Manual Entry option when processing a payment. Since Manual Entry has to be triggered on-the-fly, you can control this live, in the moment. The Manual Entry button will always be OFF (and display in red) by default and as you're processing, Peeps will provide the Manual Entry button which can be clicked (and will display in green) right before you're about to process the payment. This is also ties-in to the Point of Sale PIN in Peeps, so you can set a PIN to ensure only authorized staff can trigger the Manual Entry process during a payment. |
