The Importance of Tracking Voided Sales!

In my nearly two decades in the consignment software industry, one thing I’ve learned from the myriad calls I’ve taken from storeowners, is how important it is to be aware of Voided Sales.  Even if you utilize your security system — e.g. Peeps’ Software Access Levels — to block certain employees from being able to void a sale, if someone does have access to do so, it can create a situation where the employee can try to manipulate your system.

Some consignment software erases the sale altogether, so you literally have no record of it ever happening.  At least with Peeps’ Software, even if you do allow someone to void sales, you can always report on these.

But instead of “looking back in time” and trying to track something down — something that could’ve been going on for weeks or months — I learned it’s better for the storeowner to know about these things proactively.
