WooCommerce and Instagram for Consignment and Resale

WooCommerce and Instagram

Much like my post about connecting Shopify and Instagram, WooCommerce is the online shopping cart for stores that have WordPress websites.  So if you already have a WordPress website, you’re more than halfway there @ getting your online shopping cart up and running.

Connect Instagram & Facebook

The best thing you can do, is connect WooCommerce to Instagram, which is done so via Facebook.  This is how you get the Tag Products function within Instgram.  It’s actually much quicker and easier to do this in WooCommerce than it is in Shopify.  You just connect Facebook and you’re done.

In your WordPress admin, head to WooCommerce > Settings:

WooCommerce and Instagram

Click the Integration tab:

I’ve already connected our WooCommerce to Facebook, but you’ll see the Facebook section and you’ll be taken straight to your Facebook login:

Same as with Shopify though, you’ll still need to open the Instagram app on your phone and head to Settings > Business > Shopping to ‘request’ the ability to Tag Products:

And same as with Shopify, even before you get ‘approved’ to Tag Products on Instagram, you now have your own Shop tab so people can shop straight from your Facebook page:

I am a Software Developer, System Administrator, and consignment software specialist. I currently manage hundreds of consignment workstations, point of sale systems, and database servers all across North America and I am the developer of Peeps' Software, Peeps2Go, and Peeps' Consignor Login for iOS and Android. I've been helping consignment & resale store-owners since 2003. I started The Computer Peeps in February of 2010. Peeps' Software launched in 2016 and is now on hundreds of systems all across North America. I have successfully converted dozens of stores from all of the major consignment software systems. After 20 years of working with consignment stores, I understand the unique challenges consignment & resale store-owners face. From electrical issues in old buildings or strip malls, to advocating for them when their old consignment software keeps crashing.
